This week’s sermon:- What we have to do in remembrance of Christ. Do we need to celebrate Easter?

Introduction; Many are celebrating ester in remembrance of Christ death. They also they follow some lent day. To weep for Christ. I have a question for them. If Christ still in tomb it is reasonable to cry for Him. But He resurrected more than 2000 years back. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? Luke 24:4,5. Let us see what he said for His remembrance.

I.What we do for His remembrance :
1. Note Paul's account as given by the Lord Himself - 1 Co 11: 23-25
a. We eat the bread in memory of His body.
b. We drink the cup (fruit of the vine) in memory of His blood.
2. We therefore commemorate the death of Jesus on the cross - Mt 26:28
a. Whose death make the new covenant possible - He 9:16
b. Whose blood was shed for the remission of sins - Ep 1:7
-- As the Passover was a memorial commemorating Israel's
deliverance from Egypt through the blood of the lambs on the
door post, so the Supper is a memorial of our Lord's death who
makes our deliverance from the bondage of sin possible

3.How often we have to do it, annually once or once in a month or when a special people visiting day ? If not when we have to do it.? The Biblical evidence is that it was done weekly.
a. Christians came together on the first day of the week to
"break bread" - Ac 20:7
b. Other indications of a weekly observance:
c. The church at Corinth was coming together to eat the
Lord's Supper, though they were abusing it - cf. 1 Co 11:
17-22

Conclusion: He did not command to celebrate any religious festivals but the Lord's Supper is only special memorial of His death for our sins...it instituted by Jesus Himself, He asked His disciples to do it in His memory. The first Christians "continued steadfastly" in its observance.. Just as they did in the apostles' doctrine, fellowship and prayer. Ac 2:42. Coming together on the first day of the week for that very purpose. Acts20:7.
So we will follow what he wanted us to do for His remembrance if we truly love Him.

This week’s sermon: Obedience:
Introduction: We know Christ teach through His works. He teach us how to forgive and how to love and how to be obedient. Let us discuss how He tech us to be obedient to his neighbor. He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. John 13:4,5.
1.He took the towel and washed feet of Apostles( Including Judas): Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
2. We have to teach or preach what we follow: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Philip 2: 8-10.
3. We have to be humble: I saw there are some people used to wash to the fellow people. It is not what Christ mean. He wanted to teach how to be humble each other and how we love each other. If you wash the feet and then if you hate that person it is in vain. So we have to preach what we have to follow and we have to follow as Par His word.
Conclusion; If love Him we will be obedient to Him and we respect His word.
Illustration: One preacher and his son both are kneeled started to pray for poor person. Dad prayed to God for the poorer to relive this poor man with some money he needed. Dad finished the prayer. Immediately son asked his dad give the money I will go to that poor person and I will donate the money to that poor because we have the money. Dad wondered for it.
