				| The Joy of Giving
				Read

				Nehemiah 8:1-3,
				9-12.
This day of great joy was accompanied by the giving of gifts.
Throughout history people have shared the joy of giving with others.
Giving began with God!  We have all probably received gifts that
were the wrong size, wrong color, wrong style or even defective in
some way.  But God’s gifts are always perfect.  (James
			1:17)  The
psalmist declared, “Yes, the Lord will give what is good.”  (Psalms
			85:12)  Also
Jehovah is unchanging in His nature and character – “no shadow of
turning.”   He always and forever will give good gifts.  The text
describes God as the “Father of lights”, the giver of light.  (Genesis
			1:14-18)  This
gift of light is the basic source of energy for us here on earth.
He will be our source of life in heaven.  (Revelation:
			22:5) |

				| Galatians 1:16-21
"to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the
Gentiles; straightway I conferred not with flesh and blood neither went I up to Jerusalem to them that were apostles before
me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus." |

				| A Quiet and Gentle
			Spirit
What does it mean to have a gentle and quiet spirit?  Some
people mistakenly think that a gentle and quiet spirit is displayed when
one never speaks.  Certainly sometimes a quiet spirit will be
exhibited by silence, but not always. A quiet person can be all
worked up on the inside while being perfectly composed on the outside.  A Christian that is secure in the
confidence of their faith in God is gentle and quiet.  They are not
overcome with worry and anxiety. This gentle and quiet spirit is a calm,
peaceful spirit. It is a tamed spirit, a gentled spirit which has been
brought under the control of the one who is responsible for it.
A quiet spirit does not engage in idle talk.
A Quiet Spirit refrains from reviling speech.
A quiet and gentle person does not
		speak deceitfully to others.
A quiet and gentle person controls
		their temper.
A gentle and quiet spirit does not
		speak evil of one another.
A quiet and gentile spirit avoids foolish and ignorant disputes.
A quiet and gentle spirit exhibits gentleness, patience and
		humility.

				| Galatians 1:11-15
Bible Study Galatians 1:11-16But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was
preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it
from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of
Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism,
how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to
destroy it. 14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my
contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for
the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it pleased God, who
separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace,

				| Going Forward by
			Going Back Jeremiah 6:16

				We live in a progressive
society.  Advances are made in technology every day which
enhance our lives and make us more productive with less physical
effort.  Many people strive to keep themselves abreast of the
newest things coming out.  The newest fashions, the latest
cars, the best and the biggest and the most modern stuff is in high
demand.  We are a progressive people who strive to push ever
forward and we live in a world that is ever changing from day to
			day.
				Sadly, the progress
we are making in the realm of religious matters does not seem to be keeping
up with society as a whole.  Our advancements in science and technology
are resulting in God being pushed out of our lives to be replaced with
worldly things.  God is being expelled from our schools, voted out of
our government and forgotten by our society.   |

				| Galatians 1:8-10  Bible Study
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach
any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him
be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone
preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let
			him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men?
For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

				| Galatians 1:6-7
				(Bible Study)
6 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass,
you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness,
considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another's
burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks
himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4
But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have
rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For each one shall
			bear his own load.

6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him
			who teaches.

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the
flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the
Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while
doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all,
especially to those who are of the household of faith.

				| One Baptism What is baptism?  Is it a command of God or an ultimatum of
man?  Jesus asked this question to certain Jewish rulers.
Matthew 21:23-27 Did not Jesus say in
Mark 16:16, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”  Is someone
submitting to God when he puts
				John 3:16 against
Mark 16:16. Who put water in the new birth?  God joined water and
salvation – entering the kingdom of heaven.  What does it reveal
about one’s heart when they reject Christ’s authority?
John 3:5 Did not the Holy Spirit promise forgiveness of sins to those
who repented and were baptized on Pentecost?
Acts 2:38 Does man have the right to put asunder or separate what God
has joined together?  What is man doing when he believes and is
baptized?  He is acknowledging his sins and his need of God’s
grace and blood. What is a believer doing when he repents and is baptized for
the remission of sins?  He is submitting to God’s authority and
to God’s right to set the conditions for faith to meet in order
to enjoy redemption by grace through blood. |

				Fear
				God
				Our beginning text this
morning comes from a familiar passage in Matthew 10:28: “Do not
fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Fear Him
who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Jesus taught
that fear of God is essential. The psalmist described it in
Psalm 119:120: “My flesh trembles for fear of You, and I am
afraid of Your judgments.” Moses warned Israel in Deuteronomy
6:10–15 that losing the fear of God would bring destruction.
True fear of God means reverence, awe, and respect for His
greatness, as well as trembling at His power and His judgments. |
