The congregation
at the Granby Church of Christ began as the
brethren from West Union and Lone Star worked
together to organize a lectureship in Granby.
The first meetings were held in the old Burtrum
car building owned by Earl Stipp. From there a
few members started meeting in the Billy
Williams building downtown. Ted Teel was the
first minister to bring the message of the
Gospel to this congregation.
The Lone Star
community donated their old school building and
it was moved to a lot across from the Granby
school bus barn. After some minor remodeling it
was ready for services in 1957. The present
cement block building was erected in 1960.
Additional classrooms were built in 1974. |
