1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God* in your hearts, and always be ready to give a
defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with
meekness and fear;
The King James version
translates this "be ready
always to give an answer to every man that asketh" The Greek word
for "answer" and "defense" is "Apologia". This is the
root word for our word today for the word "apology" Today the word
"apology" carries the primary meaning of sorrow for something done in error
or in transgression of another's will or rights.
