Our Wonderful God

Our Wonderful God

Introduction:
Psalm 145:1–3 reminds us to lift our eyes to the greatness of God. In our fast-paced lives filled with responsibilities and distractions, it’s easy to lose focus on Him. Yet we must pause to remember who God is—holy, all-knowing, all-powerful, and infinitely good.

God Is Holy

To say that God is holy means He is completely set apart from sin and evil. When Moses approached the burning bush, he was told to remove his sandals because the ground was holy (Exodus 3:1–6). God’s holiness makes His presence awe-inspiring and worthy of reverence. There is none like Him (2 Samuel 7:22). His holiness is infinite and perfect, as expressed in Isaiah 6:1–3, where the seraphim cry, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” His holiness defines His character—it governs His love, His justice, and His mercy.

God Is All-Knowing

God’s knowledge is complete and without limit. His foreknowledge is seen throughout history. Isaiah 48:3–5 declares that He revealed past events long before they occurred, proving His perfect understanding of all things. “The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men” (Psalm 33:13–15). He knows every detail of our lives (1 John 3:20), even our secret thoughts (Hebrews 4:13). No one can hide from Him (Job 34:21–27). When we are weary and fainthearted, He knows and sustains us (Psalm 121:1–4). His knowledge brings both comfort and conviction—it assures us that He understands our struggles, yet also holds us accountable for our choices.

God Is All-Powerful

Nothing is too hard for God. Jeremiah 32:17 declares, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” He possesses infinite power and can accomplish all that aligns with His perfect will and character (Genesis 18:11–14; 2 Timothy 2:13; Hebrews 6:18). All things were created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16). The universe itself is a testimony to His majesty—He spoke it into being, and it continues by His command. Isaiah 40:17, 21–26 reminds us that the nations are like a drop in a bucket before Him, and all creation bows to His greatness. His power is unmatched, yet He uses it for our good and His glory.
