What does the church of Christ believe about Jesus Christ?
The two are one and the same.
Jesus is God:
Thomas declared Jesus as God. John 20:28, "And Thomas
answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God."
Paul wrote that Jesus was God. Romans 9:5, "Whose are the
fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is
over all, God blessed for ever. Amen."
Titus 2:13, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious
appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ"
Peter declared Jesus to be God. 2 Peter 1:1, "Simon Peter, a
servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained
like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ".
God the Father called Jesus Christ God. Hebrews 1:8, "But
unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a
sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom". |
