Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation.

Comments:
Inspiration is how revelation came down to us. It’s the guarantee that God’s will is revealed as God would have it be - either in spoken or written form. 2 Timothy 3:16 assures us that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God”. 2 Peter 1:20 is not talking about how scripture is read and “interpreted”, but how it was written, or in other words, how truth came to man.
